Tammie Norries was a Scottish brand created by artist and designed Frances Glen, who lives just outside Glasgow. She started the business during the first lockdown in March 2020, designing cheerful homeware, gifts and greeting cards inspired by everyday life and the natural world.
Frances’ work was bold, bright and full of warmth, with designs rooted in her walks through the Scottish countryside with her twins and dog, Nelson. Each piece began as hand-drawn sketched of Scottish wildlife and wildflowers, before being developed digitally into colourful, contemporary designs. Much of her work celebrated well-loved Scottish animals such as puffins, deer and Highland cows, alongside more unusual wildlife including midges, capercaillie and the Scottish wildcat.
The name Tammie Norries comes from the Shetland and Orkney name for puffins, reflecting the brand’s strong Scottish identity and sense of place.
